The Punjab government has launched the Himmat Card program to support individuals with disabilities. This initiative, led by the Chief Minister of Punjab, is designed to provide financial assistance and other essential services to people with disabilities (PWDs) across the province.

Agreement with the Bank of Punjab (BOP)

An agreement was recently signed between the provincial Minister of Social Welfare, Bet-ul-Mal Punjab, and the Bank of Punjab (BOP) to distribute the Himmat Cards. This agreement ensures that PWDs will receive a quarterly payment of Rs. 10,500. The first payment will be disbursed on September 16, providing much-needed support for basic necessities.

  2. Phase 2: An additional 25,000 PWDs will receive their cards.

These cards will allow PWDs to easily access their quarterly stipend, making financial transactions more convenient.

Eligibility for the Himmat Card

To qualify for the Himmat Card, individuals must meet the following criteria:

  • Certified as disabled by the Punjab Social Welfare Department.
  • Classified as “Not Fit to Work.”
  • Not currently employed in the public or private sectors.
  • Must not have received financial aid from BISP, PSPA, Zakat Fund, or similar organizations.
  • PMT score issued by BISP should not exceed 37.
